The Pool Needs You! Help Keep Lakepark Splashing Into 2027! ☀️
We all love our neighborhood pool. It’s where friendships are made, kids create summer memories, families cool off on hot afternoons, and neighbors come together as a community.
But here’s the truth:
Lakepark doesn’t run itself.
The Lakepark Recreation Association is currently seeking volunteers who want to contribute their skills and time to help keep our beloved swim club operating. Several board members have completed their terms and reached the end of their service, and we need new volunteers willing to step up and help lead Lakepark into the future.
Who Is the Lakepark Recreation Association?
We are a nonprofit, volunteer Board of Directors that administers the Lakepark Swim Club. The Association began with a group of dedicated neighbors who pooled their own resources to maintain the independent nature of our neighborhood pool. Their volunteer efforts created and preserved the grassroots community hub that Lakepark remains today.
Simply put:
No volunteers = No Board. No Board = No Pool.
While that may sound dramatic, it’s true. The continued success and operation of Lakepark depends on members who are willing to give a little of their time and talent to serve the community.
Don’t worry, we’re not looking for superheroes. You don’t need special experience, a finance degree, or Olympic-level swimming skills. We just need neighbors who care about Lakepark and want to help preserve this special place for future generations.
Open Board Positions for the 2027 Pool Season
💰 Treasurer (3-Year Term)
Responsible for the financial health of Lakepark. An Accounting background is helpful! Duties include: Maintaining the Snack Shack cash box, making deposits, paying invoices, keeping QuickBooks and financial records up to date, creating the seasonal budget, maintaining Budget vs. Actual reports, and filing sales taxes.
👥 Membership Chair (2-Year Term)
Promotes and manages all membership activities. Duties include: Managing member intake, retention, and reactivation through MemberSplash, responding to membership inquiries, maintaining member records, coordinating membership renewals, and helping grow membership to maintain revenue.
🎉 Events Coordinator (2-Year Term)
Plans, promotes, organizes, and executes events at Lakepark. Events include: Holiday celebrations, Ice Cream Socials, Kids’ Lock-Ins, and Other community activities throughout the season. Works closely with the Fundraising Coordinator on fundraising events.
🎟️ Fundraising Coordinator (2-Year Term)
Plans and manages fundraising programs for Lakepark. Responsibilities include: Securing sponsors, organizing raffles, and coordinating fundraising events. Working alongside the Events Coordinator to support financial goals.
🍫 Snack Shack Coordinator (2-Year Term)
Keeps our favorite summer treats stocked and ready. Responsibilities include: Maintaining inventory, shopping trips to Costco and other suppliers, setting prices, monitoring sales, and refreshing inventory as needed.
